Community Service Programs and Special Projects

Our Community Service Programs and Special Projects are structured to enable clubs to harness the vast resources of our membership to address the needs of their individual communities.

GFWC Community Service Programs and Special Projects focus on major issues that affect our communities daily—supporting women’s health, preserving natural resources, promoting literacy and equality, citizen advocacy, and encouraging volunteer service—and fall into the following areas of focus:

Arts  - Activities in this Community Service program area are designed to   stimulate the artistic interests of GFWC members with participation in arts and various contests including Photography, Painting, and Crafting.

Conservation - Activities in this Community Service program area are designed to increase awareness of important issues like beautification of local communities, conserving natural resources  preserving our national parks and  observing days that commemorate conservation activities.

Education - Activities in this Community Service program are designed to increase awareness of low literacy rates and the problems it causes; the need for mentoring; the plight of those with learning disabilities; and need for leadership skills and the value of supporting our libraries.

Home Life - Activities in this Community Service program are designed to increase awareness of important issues about women's health, women's economic security and people with disabilities.

International Affairs - Activities in this Community Service program area are designed to increase awareness of the importance of the United Nations,  international exchange and development programs, and international aid and relief organizations.
